EverQuest 2’s Scars of Destruction Expansion Roars to Life This November

The final leg of EverQuest 2’s “Year of Darkpaw” is ramping up, and we now have a launch window for the highly anticipated Scars of Destruction expansion. Teased earlier this year during Fippy Fest, Scars of Destruction is set to drop in November 2024, with pre-orders and beta access kicking off on October 1st. This will mark the 21st expansion for EverQuest 2, and it promises a draconic adventure through a newly revealed Dragon Necropolis filled with ancient threats and deadly loot.

Head of Studio Jenn Chan offered a tantalizing preview in her latest producer’s letter: “Dangerous forces have been stirring across Norrath, and players will be journeying into the remnants of Odus’ coastline and beyond the Western Wastes.” Expect to face down ageless draconic crypts, all while evading bone-chewing vermin and a growing army of enemies. Oh, and did we mention the new Big Bad? A scheming, arcane villain whose true identity remains a mystery.

For the uninitiated, EverQuest 2 has been a staple in the MMORPG genre since 2004, and this year’s Year of Darkpaw has been packed with fresh content and anniversary events. From the return of Nights of the Dead to the classic free-to-play MMORPG’s upcoming 20th anniversary in November and the Frostfell winter event in December, there’s plenty to keep fans busy throughout the remainder of the year-long celebration.
