Black Desert Online officially announced that they would begin their first round of alpha testing for their buy to play Western version of the game starting on October 26. The game's official alpha website at http://www.blackdesertonline.com/alpha will be live this Friday! The alpha will run until November 1st and will only be open during select hours each day. You can see the full alpha schedule below:

Black Desert Online Alpha Schedule

  • 08:00 / 20:00 Central European Summer Time (26th October / 1st November)
  • 12:00 AM / 12:00 PM Eastern Time (26th October / 1st November)
  • 7:00 AM / 7:00 PM Pacific Time (26th October / 1st November)

As we are still in the localization and polishing process to adapt to the Western market, this early alpha version of the EU/NA client will be only able to provide a basic gameplay experience and does not reflect the final state of the product at launch.
You will also find some features present that are disabled or not fully functional. This is intentional as we are focusing on tweaking the hardware (server integration) and client configuration. A detailed list of known issues can be found when you launch the game. This build will only be playable in English. The level cap during this Alpha is 30.

The game will fully launch in early 2016 and feature English, German, and French localizations. It will be buy to play, similar to how Guild Wars 2 launched, and sell vanity items in its cash shop. We will be giving away some alpha keys for Black Desert Online, so keep an eye out on that page!
