Heroes Of Rune Begins "Pre-Greenlight Campaign"

MijiKai Game Studio, developers of Apocalypse City: Last Stand, have announced that their next project is now undergoing a "pre-Greenlight campaign." Previously announced to be targeting browsers, the team at MijiKai want to know if prospective players would rather see the game distributed as a "Premium game" on Steam. To get the feedback they are looking for, they have set up a Greenlight Concepts page.

Heroes of Rune is a MOBA that is looking to change the standard MOBA formula. It does away with standardized concepts such as lanes, towers, and auto-spawning creeps. In its place, players hunt monsters in an open-world environment, like an MMORPG, and collect gold and experience from them. With the gold earned from monsters, players purchase upgrades and manually spawn minions that "follow heroes directly into combat."

You won't have to judge the game based solely on its description, though. You can play the alpha version right now on the official website. The alpha is currently browser-exclusive and MijiKai themselves recommend Firefox. If you do happen to give it a shot, don't forget to leave some feedback for them on the Greenlight Concepts page. Your feedback will determine the game's future business model, after all!
