Following the continued success of Kantai Collection, "___ as girls" games are a dime a dozen today. They all revolve around gachas, they all generally have automated combat, and, unlike Kantai Collection, they generally don't have the permadeath mechanic that brings the extra emotional investment. The "tanks as girls" Android game, Panzer Waltz is no exception.

Panzer Waltz—developed by Hong Kong-based company Happy Universe—initially launched in East Asia as Metal Waltz late last year. Since then, "millions across East Asia" are said to have joined it before launching here in the West.

In Panzer Waltz, players are required to put together a squad of six "Metal Maidens" and set out on various missions. Teams can be sent out in PvE Story, PvP Clash, and PvE Event modes. The story is said to include "hundreds of hours of gameplay." As with many similar games, upgrading equipment through the game's "intensive Metal Maiden customization" is essential to progress.

Panzer Waltz can be downloaded from Google Play or as a direct APK download via the official website.
