Eforb announced today that their post-apocalyptic survival MMORPG The Skies is entering Early Access on April 16th. A closed test is scheduled to happen between now and the Early Access launch. The game will have all of the features you have come to expect from survival games: crafting, PvP, non-linear progression, and more.

The Skies will be a bit different, though, as open PvP is not one of its features. Instead, PvP will be restricted to arena fights and clan wars. Clans wars allow clans to wage war over territories. Successfully captured territories can then be taxed by the clans that own them.

Other features boasted are a complex "multi-level" economy, non-linear dialogue, and a role system with various skills and characteristics that directly affect dialogue. One of the examples given is that, if you don't train "intellectual abilities," you will have various conversation choices taken away from you and the sentences you do have won't be very smart.

The Skies is a free-to-play game, but it will be supported by a subscription. The subscription will be optional and will not cause imbalances between players.
