In response to calls for their resignation, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick and members of the company’s board of directors have formed a Workplace Responsibility Committee that will oversee the implementation of new policies, procedures, and commitments aimed at improving workplace culture and preventing future instances of harassment and discrimination within the company.

The new committee is currently comprised of two independent directors who will be working closely with Activision Blizzard’s management to develop new Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other means of measuring progress and ensuring accountability with regard to improving workplace culture. They will be working alongside Kotick, the company’s Chief People Officer, and the Chief Compliance Officer to provide regular progress reports to the board. The committee will also be able to bring in outside consultants and independent legal counsel to assist in their work.

“The Activision Blizzard Board is committed to ensuring a healthy workplace in which all employees feel valued, safe, and respected. Our Audit Committee has been kept apprised of developments, including the EEOC and DFEH investigations. The Board supports the numerous steps taken by management since 2018 to improve workplace culture, including centralizing the human resources function in 2019 to ensure greater consistency and accountability, strengthening and increasing training, and, most recently, improving methods for reporting and responding to complaints of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.”

As part of their efforts to improve workplace culture and in response to a petition from their shareholders, the company says that they are also working on adding a new “diverse” director the board.
