Albion Online Previews Faction Warfare 2.0 ‘Call To Arms’ Update

albion online call to arms polar bear bannerSandbox Interactive takes faction warfare in Albion Online to the next level with the upcoming Call to Arms update. Call to Arms is the next big update coming to the fantasy MMORPG and will improve on the current iteration of faction wars.

Faction Warfare 2.0 will give factions the ability to control entire regions within the game world. Players will then earn loyalty points by defending owned regions or by attacking regions controlled by opposing factions.

The update will also introduce monthly Faction Campaigns, new faction mounts, and a new faction with a unique playstyle recommended for veteran players. The new faction comes with their own faction cape and mount to set them apart from the rest of the factions. The Royal continent will also be expanded to make room for a recurring faction warfare event at its center.

In addition to Faction Warfare improvements, Call to Arms will also come with new and improved Hellgates featuring better visuals, a new 10vs10 option for mid-sized PvP battles, an Infamy leaderboard, matchmaking improvements, a “rising lava” mechanic to prevent players from stalling, and the addition demonic creatures previously only found in Corrupted Dungeons.

“This overhaul of Hellgates aims to address gameplay concerns brought to us by longtime players, as well as open one of Albion’s most exciting PvP features to more players,” says the devs.

Players can also look forward to a loadout system which includes a stat and estimated cost preview feature for loadouts, new tooltips, and moving vegetation graphics upgrade.

A balance patch will also be rolling out this month which will adjust combat values, add a new ability for mace weapons, and tweak several combat abilities to improve 1v1 and small-group PvP balance in Corrupted Dungeons.
