Another Veteran Developer Joins The Growing List Of Ex-ArenaNet Developers
These past few years haven’t been good on ArenaNet. Since last year, the company has been hit with massive layoffs, company restructuring, and multiple high-profile developers leaving for better opportunities including Lead Game Designer and Lead Writer Bill Friest and Co-founder/President Mike O’Brien.
Today, another developer has decided to leave ArenaNet’s ranks. Lead Systems Designer Hugh Norfolk announces his departure after eight years of working with the studio.
8 years of passion and growth. 8 Years part of an amazing community. 8 years of being part of a team that I call family. 8 Years is a good time to move on and grow again. The future is so bright for my family. On to my next adventure, but know I will be watching from afar. pic.twitter.com/EA58wRIYth

Meanwhile, ArenaNet assures fans of their long-term commitment to maintaining and continually improving Guild Wars 2.
