Ashes Of Creation Hits $1.5 Million In Funding, New Stretch Goals Unveiled

Whether or not you believe that Ashes of Creation is the next big thing, the Kickstarter campaign has undoubtedly been interesting to watch. As of yesterday, Intrepid Studios has raised a total of $1.5 million for its ambitious MMORPG project, smashing through the "Enhanced Naval Combat" stretch goal.

As all of its previous stretch goals have now been reached, more stretch goals have taken their place. They include "expansive underground areas" known as the Underrealm at $1.75 million, "added social progression paths" like a Thieves Guild at $2 million, and a new, beast-like player race from the Underrealm at $2.5 million.

As there are a number of stretch goals that have been reached at this time, Intrepid also took the time to ensure its backers that these stretch goals would not "result in scope creep." The full statement is as follows.

All backer goals that get unlocked are given to all backers of the project, and we want to make sure you guys are aware that none of the goals on our stretch goals will result in scope creep. We have carefully planned out all of the work necessary to achieve these goals. Which is why they are at the values they are at. We will not delay the release of the game in any way because of these goals!

Ashes of Creation has already raised over 200% of its $750,000 goal and has reached all of its initial stretch goals. How much higher do you think that it will go from here?
