It’s been a week since the highly-awaited launch of Battlefield 2042, and as with most game releases, DICE’s latest Battlefield entry still needed a whole lot of tinkering under the hood. The team, however, was quick to act on player feedback with Update 1 released shortly after the game’s launch followed by yesterday’s Update 2.

Update 2 introduces key balance changes for several weapons and vehicles and takes care of the wildly unpredictable bullet spread which has been reduced on all weapons except for shotguns.

“For vehicles such as the LCAA Hovercraft, MD540 Nightbird, KA-520 Super Hokum and AH-64GX Apache Warchief we’ve made adjustments that brings them more in line with other vehicles. On the weapon front, you can expect increased recoil for the PP-29, and more consistent bullet spread for most weapons.”

The update also nerfed the damage of all land vehicle miniguns and adjusted their bullet drops to start earlier. A bug that prevented players who were killed near obstacles from being revived and another that prevented downed players from respawning have been fixed. Downed players will now automatically redeploy after 30 seconds in a downed state.

Other unexpected weapon behavior, visual issues, and other performance problems are expected to be fixed in Update 3 which will be coming out sometime next month. In the meantime, you can enjoy increased accuracy on most weapons thanks to the latest update.
