Beyond The Void Is An RTS With MOBA Elements

Beyond the Void is a new 1v1 competitive RTS that showed up on Greenlight yesterday. The game utilizes several MOBA elements, letting players choose a mothership and equip it with an ultimate skill and a passive skill from any of three categories: movement, offensive, and utility. They then fly their outfitted motherships into battle to take over the galaxy.

In each match, players have to take over planets and equip two rings to them. Engineering rings can be used to research mothership upgrades, build "specialized structures," or research new technology. Industrial rings will gather "cubes," which are used to pay for research or build ships. Military rings build warships and unlock powerful ships for your fleet.

Once you've captured several planets and built up a powerful fleet, you must head into battle and destroy your opponent's mothership. Along the way, you can play Event Cards, which will change the battlefield in significant ways.

Beyond the Void also features an ELO-based ranked mode with several leagues, a system that is similar to that of League of Legends and Overwatch. The intention is that Beyond the Void will become an eSport.

Those who are interested can head over to the official website and download the Open Beta client now. A more formal Early Access version is expected to released on June 28th. If you want to see the game end up on Steam, be sure to give it a Yes vote on Greenlight.
