Black Desert Online Will Be Buy-To-Play In South America

It's no secret that free-to-play games are king in South America, as they are in many other regions. That's why today's news comes as such a surprise. Red Fox Games announced recently that the South American version of Black Desert Online will be buy-to-play, following in the footsteps of the NA/EU and Taiwanese versions. In fact, every version that has followed the NA/EU version thus far has been buy-to-play, which starkly contrasts the free-to-play model used in the Japanese, Korean, and Russian releases, each of which launched before the NA/EU version. One has to wonder if future releases in other regions will be buy-to-play, as well.

Red Fox Games has not announced a release date for the South American version of Black Desert Online, which will be available only in Portuguese and Spanish, nor has it announced whether it will offer Founder's Packs prior to release.
