Blizzard Entertainment Announces Official Launch Date For Warcraft 3: Reforged

Starting next year, or next month depending on how you look at it, Warcraft fans will be able to play through a reimagined version of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne in Warcraft 3: Reforged.

“Warcraft III: Reforged takes you back to a tumultuous time in Azeroth’s history, when a dark shadow eclipsed a peaceful land, the world trembled before the coming of the Burning Legion, and heroes risked it all to prevent the death of their world.

Soon you’ll be able to relive the definitive real-time strategy classic, with revitalized visuals, an epic single-player campaign spanning over 60 missions, rebalanced online play, a suite of contemporary social and matchmaking features, a vast universe of player-created games, and more.”

The game was initially scheduled to launch before the end of the year but was pushed back to early 2020 to give Blizzard more time to polish the game. “[. . .] As we started approaching the finish line, we felt we’d need a little extra development time for finishing touches,” says the studio. “As always, our goal is to honor the high standards you hold us to.”

Warcraft 3: Reforged is scheduled to come out in January 28, 2020 with a $29.99 price tag. For $39.99, you can pick up the Spoils of War Edition which is loaded with a host of in-game goodies for Reforged and other Blizzard games including a World of Warcraft Meat Wagon Mount, Overwatch player icons and animated sprays, the Hearthstone “Third War” card back, Heroes of the Storm heroes, and more. All pre-purchases also come with guaranteed access to the ongoing beta test.
