Blizzard Removes World of Warcraft Battlechest - Only Subscription Needed to Play

Blizzard quietly removed the World of Warcraft Battlechest from their store and now allows players to play through level 110 simply by purchasing a subscription. This doesn't mean expansions going forward won't cost money though, as Battle for Azeroth is available for $49.99, but it does mean new players will only ever need to purchase a subscription and the latest expansion to begin playing WoW. They can also forego the latest expansion and begin play immediately for the price of a monthly subscription.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth Features Overview

While this isn't exactly a big move for current WoW players, it does make getting into the game a lot easier for returning and new users. Battle for Azeroth is set to launch on August 13th, 2018 and I'm glad I'll be able to play without having to buy Legion separately.
