Book Of Travels Delays Early Access To Q2 2021, Promises First Gameplay Video In November

book of travels giant trees bannerBook of Travels developer Might and Delight has a new update for fans and backers of the fairy tale book-inspired online RPG. According to the latest post on the game’s Kickstarter page, the team has decided to delay Early Access to Q2 2021 because of the work constraints brought about by the current pandemic.

“[. . .] While playing-together-apart has saved us this summer, working together apart doesn't make for ideal coding collaboration. We were glad to have delivered the closed beta in June, but it was a smaller version than we'd have liked and it revealed to us the extent of the work ahead. We also have Shelter 3 in production and a happily thriving world of Meadow to maintain, so in the end we had to take stock and revise deadlines - early access is now scheduled for Q2 of 2021.”

Might and Delight also promises to release their first gameplay trailer in November along with a major update. Dev updates will also be shifted to a fortnightly schedule starting on October 2nd. “We know that you’ve been waiting patiently, and your enthusiasm and anticipation really have been like soul food for us through these trying times,” says the studio. “The good news is that we'll be more present in the coming months. With our new schedule in place we’ve been able to make space for a new series of regular, fortnightly updates that will tell you where development is at and how the game is shaping up.”

In the meantime, the team is hard at work on the game’s combat system, NPC dialogues, story arc, the hub city, and polishing up existing content. The studio is also looking for a freelance 2D artist to help with the game’s artwork.
