Chivalry Creators Begin Public Testing For Mirage: Arcane Warfare This September

Mirage: Arcane Warfare will begin its first public testing period this September, for a select number of participants. Not everyone who signs-up is guaranteed a spot (finger's crossed) in Torn Banner's latest project after Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. And the phase will be under a Non-Disclosure Agreement; keep your mouth zipped and your keyboards silent. But Mirage is slated to release sometime in the first quarter of 2017, preceded by a Beta testing period.

Over the last 6 months, we’ve used private testing opportunities and general community feedback to gameplay footage to improve Mirage every step of the way. Many players expressed a desire for more opportunities for skill based combat with projectiles – so we added dynamic projectile deflection as a core feature. We’re developing our UI and blocking/damage indicators based on feedback to cut back on unnecessary distractions and keep combat awareness as streamlined as possible. We’re also experimenting with the speed of foot movement to get the best blend of cautious deliberateness and blood-pumping action.

If you already signed up for the Beta you'll probably get first dibs according to a post on the game's official site.

Sean's Take: I'm a big fan of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, and if Mirage manages to capture half of the excitement of its predecessor I'll be happy. The game promises more gore and deep combat situations but in a fantasy Persian and Arabic aesthetic. Looking forward to testing the game out when I can blab about it. Until then I'll sit here impatiently.
