Civil War Shooter War Of Rights Reaches Kickstarter Funding Goal

Campfire Games' Civil War era shooter War of Rights reached its Kickstarter funding goal this past weekend and is now accepting donations through PayPal. First person shooters set before the 20th century are a rarity in the overly saturated modern shooter market; whatever happened to World War II FPS games? But War of Rights aims to change the status quo by immersing players in the Maryland Campaign of September 1862.

Built on CryEngine, War of Rights will feature 4 historically significant and expansive maps upon it's Alpha release. Based on the Kickstarter trailer players will march with comrades to objective points while avoiding devastating artillery fire amidst lush woodlands and farms. It aims to be not only informative about historical narrative but fun (I wonder if Walt Whitman will be the medic class).

Interested players can vote for War of Rights on the Steam Greenlight page and stay up to date by visiting the game's website.
