DC Universe Online Delays New Episode Releases Due To Staff Shortages

Dimensional Ink Games outlines what’s in store for DC Universe Online in the next few months in their May 2022 development update. Unfortunately, it’s going to be a while before a new episode is released as Episode 44 has been delayed to October and Episode 55 to early next year due to staff shortages.

“Work has already begun on 44, but we would not have been able to meet our previous deadlines due to some recent staff shortages. Our new event, Save the Universe content, and Survival Mode will help fill the gap and keep things fresh.”

Players can expect to see the return of the Tides of War seasonal event this summer along with Save the Universe and Survival Mode. “Survival Mode is especially interesting this time because we're aiming for this to be our first ever 6-person content. A ‘Ralert,’ if you will. An ‘Araid,’ if you won’t. ...we’re still workshopping what to call it,” said Dimensional Ink.

Two new allies will also be arriving later this year, as well as a new Homecoming seasonal event, and a balance update for older artifacts.
