Doctor Who And The Daleks Are Coming To EVE Online Next Week
Doctor Who is travelling to New Eden next week as CCP Games kicks off the first major cross-IP collaboration in EVE Online. The limited-time crossover event will kick off on January 13th and will run until February 1st, featuring an entirely new area inspired by the longest-running sci-fi TV show in history.
“The EVE Online x Doctor Who crossover will take place as an entirely original in-game event, called The Interstellar Convergence. Set before the Time Lords’ 400-year-long conflict with the Daleks, ‘The Last Great Time War’, this very special EVE event will run for over two weeks until 1 February. The Interstellar Convergence will be unlike any other EVE event before it, introducing a beguiling mystery, a trail of clues, multiple challenges, themed items, and even a vibrant new area of space.”
During the event, players will get to hunt for Doctor Who-related artifacts in Gallifrey-themed space. They can then use the recovered artifacts track down the Dalek forces. Face off against the infamous extraterrestrial race to claim exclusive Doctor Who-inspired rewards. Players can also earn additional rewards and skill points via a new login campaign that will be active for the duration of the event.
“EVE Online x Doctor Who not only brings two iconic universes together, but also the passionate Whovians with the just-as-passionate pilots of New Eden,” said BBC Studios Senior Producer Kevin Jorge. “By bringing the fanbases together, the already massive battles of EVE Online are sure to become even more explosive. Only time will tell if New Eden’s fiercest pilots have what it takes to challenge the might of the Daleks.”
