With Dual Universe steadily marching towards full release, Novaquark is now focusing on polishing up the space sandbox MMORPG in preparation for launch day. The team will be deploying a whole host of tweaks, improvements, and adjustments as part of the upcoming Mercury update, along with a new market place called the Alioth Exchange.

“Catering to the entrepreneurs and shoppers of DU, we are excited to introduce the ‘Alioth Exchange,’ a new megaplex offering an opportunity for players to spend their quanta in shops built and run by their fellow players.”

The first Exchange site will be located at the center of a teleportation network between all Pioneer Zone markets and districts and will house a mix of player constructs that advertise and sell all manner of goods and services, including but not limited to voxel libraries, markets, ship shops, racetracks, LUA scripting and anything else players decide to offer.

The site will have limited slots and will only have 16 slots available initially. Those interested in setting up shop within the site are advised to apply for a slot as soon as possible. To apply, read the rules, build your XS core construct for review by the devs, and fill out and submit this form.

The rest of the Mercury update will feature graphical improvements to lighting and explosions, a talent point reset, and an overhaul of the game’s LUA API. The update will also introduce a new UI element that will give players an overview of their account information and the possessions and constructs they’ve unlocked in-game.

Details on the update’s contents can be found on the Dual Universe official site.
