Electronic Arts Is Rumored To Be Ending Support For Monster-Hunting Game Wild Hearts

It’s only been half a year since Koei Tecmo and Electronic Arts added their own entry into the monster-hunting genre with the launch of Wild Hearts, but it looks like the game’s days are already numbered.

A moderator of the Wild Hearts subreddit recently revealed that EA is planning to end support for the game. “What you think has happened to the game has unfortunately happened. In typical EA news, it seems like they did not want to sit on the game and give it the time and expected it to most likely be the next [Monster Hunter],” the mod wrote. “Seems like it didn’t turn into the multi-million dollar big hit they wanted and don’t want to give it the love to grow.”

It’s unclear whether the news is true as he hadn’t cited any sources for the announcement, although it does lineup with the game’s current state. Wild Hearts hasn’t seen a content update since July and it’s seen a huge drop in its player count since then. Both EA and Koei Tecmo have also been conspicuously quiet, which lends at least some credibility to the reveal.

For now, Wild Hearts is still alive and kicking and it’s best to take the news with a grain of salt until we get official confirmation from the studios. Should it turn out to be true, players will likely still have a few months to enjoy the game before it officially shuts down or changes hands.
