Epic Publishes Fortnite Competitive State Of Development Ahead Of Next Week’s World Cup Tournament

fortnite world cup warmup duoThe Fortnite World Cup Online Open is just around the corner and Epic Games is giving fans a look into the changes and events coming up in the days leading up to the tournament. In preparation for the World Cup, Epic will be rolling out late game performance improvements along with a way to keep players warmed up during long Arena queue times at higher levels.

“One area we’ve heard your pain is with longer queue times in higher levels of competitive play, so we are investigating a solution: the ability to play while you wait! We'll place you into a match or Creative Island during those longer queue times to keep you warmed up. While that solution is a little way out, we’ll be regularly updating matchmaking logic for Arena to provide a better experience for players in all divisions.”

Speaking of warm ups, it’s always a good idea to test out your skills before a tournament so you have a better idea of where you stand and what areas to improve on. Well, Epic will be kicking off the $500K World Cup Warmup Tournament on April 6th which will give eligible duos a chance to hone their skills before the actual World Cup starts on April 13th.

The devs are also working on implementing in-client server replays with the release of v8.30. In the meantime, players can manually download replays through links provided on the official site.
