EVE Online Is Giving Away Thousands Of Skill Points, Preps For Bigger Aether Wars Phase Two
With Drifters and Triglavians wreaking havoc in EVE Online and the recent Comms Blackout in Nullsec plunging the sector into chaos, CCP Games is giving Capsuleers a chance to prepare for future threats with free skill points courtesy of the Season of Skills event. The event will be divided into three parts, the first of which is now in full swing.
“Log in every day throughout Bonus Skill Point Week and get free Skill Points between 17 and 25 July! As an Alpha pilot you can claim up to 200k Skill Points, but upgrade to Omega and you can claim up to 650k Skill Points throughout the event, as well as Cerebral Accelerators! Use your Skill Points to train essential skills needed for piloting bigger, better ships with more advanced weaponry.”
The second part of the event called “Skilling Spree” starts next week and will reward players with bonus skill points ranging from 10,000 points to 50,000 points for simply killing Triglavians and other enemies of New Eden. Skilling Spree starts on July 24th and will run until August 21st. To cap things off, a Bonus Skill Point Weekend will be held on August 23rd to August 26th to give players a chance to claim free last-minute skill points.
In other EVE Online news, CCP Games and Hadean are gearing up for EVE Aether Wars: Phase Two. The first Aether Wars was held back at GDC back in March. During the “ground-breaking tech demo”, nearly 4,000 players came together in a single battle resulting in the destruction of almost 90,000 ships.
This time around, the devs are aiming to take things up a notch as they set their sights on getting 10,000 players to fight a single battle and possibly set a new world record for the largest multiplayer simulation. “EVE Aether Wars: Phase Two is a rare opportunity for players to take part in a massively multiplayer space battle involving thousands of players while helping to advance CCP and Hadean’s research and development initiative,” says CCP. The massive playtest will take place on August 18th at 10am PDT. Signups are now open on the Aether Wars site.
