Square Enix has officially confirmed that Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier will be coming to Android and iOS devices this November. The announcement was made during the studio’s Tokyo Game Show 2021 presentation this weekend along with the unveiling of the new Ninja combat style and a new gameplay trailer, as well as new information on their other upcoming Final Fantasy game.

The Ninja combat style features a skillset specifically tailored for mobility, stealth, and setting up ambushes. The new combat style’s skills include the ability to do a double jump, turn invisible for a limited time, and throw a Kunai and teleport to wherever or whatever it hits.

Aside from the Ninja, players can also choose from four other combat styles: the Warrior, Sorcerer, Monk, and Ranger.

“In FINAL FANTASY VII THE FIRST SOLDIER players will embark on an intense battle royale experience where they must fight to be the last SOLDIER standing. To do so, players will use magic and special abilities along with ranged and melee weapons to triumph on the battlefield.

In addition to other SOLDIER candidates, players must also contend with ferocious monsters who inhabit the outskirts of the city. By defeating them, players can gain experience needed to level up and unlock new weapons. Classic FINAL FANTASY elements abound in the game, such as rideable chocobos, powerful espers, including Ifrit, to summon and materia, which enables players to cast devastating spells. Players can customize their characters’ outfits and accessories, obtain various weapon and vehicle skins, emotes and more to create their own unique SOLDIER.”

Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier will be free-to-play with pre-registrations set to begin later this month. In the meantime, you can check out the new gameplay trailer below.
