Final Fantasy XIV’s Housing Lottery Woes Will Soon Be Coming To An End
Final Fantasy XIV players who were affected by the housing lottery bug will finally get to build the house of their dreams. After a month of working on a fix, the dev team is now ready to deploy them and restore the lost lottery data on May 16th.
Once the servers come back online after maintenance, the winning lottery numbers should be properly displayed and winning bidders will finally be able to complete the purchase. They can also pass on the plot if they choose but will only have 7:59am PDT on May 26th to make their decision as the next lottery cycle is set to begin at exactly 8:00am on the same day. Hopefully, minus any other game-breaking bugs.
Winners who have already been refunded their bids will still be able to claim their plots without the need to submit a new bid. They can, however, voluntarily return the deposit through an NPC that will be added in Patch 6.2, or not.
“As these housing lottery issues have been significant and caused great stress and frustration in many players, we have no intention of performing a data rollback to forcibly rescind any refunded gil,” said FFXIV Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida.
“I would like to thank you all once again for your patience and understanding this past month, and extend my deepest apologies for the trouble and inconvenience these issues have caused. We will do everything in our power to safely restore your data, fix any remaining issues, and bring you all a fair and functional housing lottery system,” he concluded.
