Fortnite Brings PvE To Battle Royale With This Year’s Fortnitemares Event
Who says you can’t have a bit of PvE fun while trying to slaughter each other in Fortnite? Epic Games is celebrating Halloween with the release of Update v6.20 featuring the Fortnitemares 2018 event.
“Fortnitemares 2018 is here, featuring all manner of haunting happenings across Fortnite. Skulk in the shadows to scare your way to a Victory Royale or brave hair-raising husks to complete the weekly new missions. Darkness has risen.”
During the event, players will face off against Cube Monsters and Cube Fiends while trying to out-survive each other in Battle Royale mode. Players will also have access to two new seasonal weapons, the Six Shooter and the Fiend Hunter Crossbow.
Of course, Halloween is all about dressing up so why not take out your opponents in style with the new Deadfire Outfit. The spooky new outfit is a reactive cosmetic that changes style based on how much damage you’ve done to both players and AI, and how long you’ve stayed alive.
The Fortnitemares event also comes with a series of challenges that players can take on to unlock in-game cosmetics. A new set of challenges and rewards will be available every few days so be sure to check back regularly. Complete the final set of challenges to claim your very own Dark Engine glider.
Fortnitemares will also be coming to Save The World. The Hexsylvania scene will be making a comeback along with new story quests, the Rat Rod Weapons set, old and new Fortnitemares heroes, and a whole lot more.
Update v6.20 also introduces a number of non-Halloween related stuff such as a new pirate ship mini-game in Playground Mode and the Glider Redeploy feature for all Battle Royale game modes. Quickdraw Calamity will also be making her debut in Save The World.
