With GTA V turning 10 years old next year, the popular action-adventure franchise’s fans are hungry for news about the next game in the series. While Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that GTA VI is now in development, it’s still keeping things hush hush for the time being.

A massive leak, however, has unearthed a ton of information about the next Grand Theft Auto game, including actual in-game footage, images of its maps, and the studio’s plans. As expected, the leaks were immediately slapped with takedown notices from Take-Two Interactive, but as we all know, once it’s out on the internet, it’s out there for good. Naturally, the leaks have started a flood of new discussions and speculation about GTA VI, particularly about the map and an image that shows Lucia, the first female playable character in the franchise which Rockstar announced back in July.

Rockstar Games has since issued a statement regarding the leaks, saying that the information was procured through illicit means.

“We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third-party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto,” Rockstar tweeted. “We are extremely disappointed to have any details of our next game shared with you all in this way.”

“Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations,” the studio added. “We will update everyone again soon and, of course, will properly introduce you to the game when it’s ready.” When that will be is anyone’s guess.

Meanwhile, the hackers have asked Rockstar to contact them to work out a deal with the threat of releasing more information about both GTA VI and GTA V as well as their code and assets.
