Trolls Are Preventing Guild Wars 2 Players From Obtaining The New Elder Dragon Skins

In every MMO, there will always be players who just love to ruin the fun for everybody. Case in point, trolls in Guild Wars 2 are making it hard for other players to collect the materials required to unlock the new Zhaitan Elder Dragon legendary weapon skins by purposely completing a world event to prevent the required boss from spawning.

The event in question requires players to defeat the Risen High Wizard and the minions that he spawns. It’s relatively easy to complete even with just a handful of players but to be able to collect Elder Dragon memories, players will need to deliberately fail the encounter which will then lead to a new one. Unfortunately, some players end up killing the wizard early in the event chain causing the encounter to succeed, whether by accident or because they just want to make it harder for other players to finish their collection (most probably the latter). Frustrated players then have to wait for hours for the event to restart to get another shot at obtaining the required material.

ArenaNet has yet to address the issue although long-time players note that this isn’t the first time that the issue has come up. The fail mechanic was apparently also in place for two of the Gen 2 Legendary collections and even as early as Gen 1. They were promptly adjusted to trigger on success rather than failure, which players hope will also be the case for the new Zhaitan-themed skins.

We’ll let you know as soon as the developers roll out a fix.
