More Than Half A Million People Play Mobile FPS Critical Ops Every Day

You'd be forgiven for having never heard of mobile FPS Critical Ops; there are dozens upon dozens of mobile first-person-shooters these days and it's hard to keep track of them all. But Critical Ops stands above the rest as doing exceptionally well. Finnish game developer Critical Force Entertainment announced today that more than 500,000 people play the game every single day. In total, the game has reached a total of 15 million downloads between its Android and iOS versions. That's a player retention rate of approximately 3.33% if we assume that the 500,000 daily active users are the same 500,000 users each day.

Given the large number of daily active users, Critical Force Entertainment will be attempting to create an eSports scene around the game in the future. Very few details about there plans were given in the press release, instead devoting most of the text to comparisons to Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

If you want to try Critical Ops out yourself and see why more than half a million people are playing the game each day, you can download it now via the App Store or Google Play.
