Legion: The Eternal War Is An Upcoming Medieval Fantasy Sandbox MMORPG, Demo Available To Founders

The medieval fantasy themes may be one of the most overused themes in the gaming industry but that’s not stopping developers from making even more of them. Case in point is Legion: The Eternal War, a sandbox MMORPG currently being developed by Canadian indie studio Nexus Division Entertainment.

Legion: The Eternal War offers the usual array of features you’d normally expect from a modern medieval fantasy MMORPG, including open world exploration, action combat, dungeons, and world bosses.

“Legion’s combat system is a rotation of melee combat, ranged combat, and magical combat. Players equip armor, assign abilities to their hotbar, and exercise the mechanics to the best of their ability,” said the team. “The object of the game is strategy; if a player is proficient and tactical in their approach to combat, they should be able to take on higher-level opponents with better gear.”

The game will also feature dynamic faction-based PvP mechanics, guild wars, and castle sieges. Players will be free to kill members of the opposing faction anywhere in the game world. With some coordination, they can even storm safe zones and fight their way towards the opposing faction’s PvE areas.

“You can easily switch between PvE zones and PvP combat zones while your alliance city acts as a barrier that keeps the opposing faction outside the protected land of your people,” the studio explained. “You must always bear in mind, however, that with a coordinated attack, the enemy alliance could breach the city walls and destroy all within sight before entering PVE zones. In short – The PvE areas are protected by the PvP players.”

Legion: The Eternal War is expected to launch sometime in late 2023. A demo is currently available exclusively to all founder’s pack owners to give them a taste of what they invested in. More information can be found on the game’s official site.
