Magic: Legends Mid-April Update Adjusts Tutorial Pace, Makes Spell-Building More Efficient

magic legends key art bannerAs promised earlier this month, Cryptic Studios has just released the Magic: Legends mid-April update which features a massive list of fixes, game improvements, and adjustments to the overall pace of the tutorial quests.

The latest patch significantly reduces the time it takes to complete the overworld missions in Tazeem, largely due to the removal of the requirement to fast travel back to the starting hub when turning in missions. In addition, full 12-spell starter decks will now be given to players when they unlock a new class to make building spell libraries more efficient.

Players can also expect to see close to 500 fixes and changes, including the removal of player collision and an overall improvement in game performance. The developers plan to further improve performance and optimization in the late-May update.

“While we’re pushing good, quick fixes live almost weekly, the lion’s share of the fixes are targeting this Late-May Update,” said Executive Producer Steve Ricossa in the latest State of the Game update. “We’re making passes on every single map in the game, on our shadow tech, navmesh tech, and particle fx tech in order to improve the performance and frame rate from the min spec all the way up to the highest end of hardware. These changes, along with some server optimization improvements, should also assist with the performance our EU players are experiencing.”

Ricossa also touched on the console versions of the game, which he says are now undergoing playtesting on both PlayStation and Xbox. However, it looks like it’s still going to be a while before console players will be able to jump in the game.
