Magicka: Wizard Wars Shutting Down In July
Paradox announced that the spell-slinging PvP game Magicka: Wizard Wars will shut down on July 21, 2016. The news arrives a little less than one year after the official launch of Magicka, on April 28, 2015.
In the past few months the game has maintained a small dedicated playerbase, averaging nearly 200 players. Unfortunately, the numbers were not enough to warrant continued support.
Wizard Wars was a project close to our hearts, and although the original Dev team are now working on other projects within the Paradox organization We still have fond memories!
Over the next three months Paradox will be releasing any shelved content, so long as it's somewhat complete. And all cash shop items are now strictly purchasable with in-game crowns.
While I didn't become addicted to Magicka: Wizard Wars I will always remember the game for combining humorous charm and intense PvP combat, evident in all of the game's trailers:
