Mortal Online 2 Shows Off Its New Dynamic Weather System Ahead Of Its Release
While inclement weather is already a thing in Mortal Online 2, it’s apparently not up to par with how Star Vault wants the weather to work in the sandbox MMORPG. In line with that, the studio is currently working on a dynamic weather system which should be ready for deployment in around two updates or so.
In the meantime, the team gives players and fans a sneak peek at what they’ve accomplished so far with a new preview video that shows off the new dynamic weather system. In the video, a sunshiny day suddenly gives way to dark clouds followed by rain, snow, then back to sunny skies again.
Star Vault CEO Henrik Nystrom says that the feature they’re currently optimizing the new feature for performance which is why they used an older rig for the preview. In its current state, the cloudy and overcast skies and rain caused a slight drop in frame rates which should be fixed by the time the feature comes out.
