We’ve got both good news and bad news for Mortal Online 2 fans. The good news is that Star Vault has announced the schedule for the final stress test on Discord along with the official Early Access release date for the first-person sandbox MMORPG. The final stress test will kick off in early September while the Early Access launch is scheduled for October 26. Yay!

The bad news is that Star Vault has confirmed that a monthly subscription will be required to play the game in Early Access on top of the buy-in price of $39 for the Standard Package and $149 for the Conflux Package. Don’t worry, you won’t have to pay upfront because the Standard pack comes with a free month of subscription while the Conflux pack comes with three whole months free.

Surprisingly, instead of a big negative reaction, the community is somewhat mixed about the news of a mandatory sub. The Mortal Online 2 Reddit is currently bearing the brunt of the community’s complaints while the Discord community is showing more of a lukewarm response.

The news itself doesn’t come as a surprise since Mortal Online was also purely subscription-based before a limited-skill free-to-play option was introduced in 2012.
