Another Viking game has taken the gaming world by storm with Tribes of Midgard selling over 250,000 copies in just two days. The new co-op roguelite ARPG launched on Steam this past Tuesday, immediately rocketing to the top of the charts to become the third most top-selling game on the platform just below The Ascent and New World.

“We are very excited to announce that Midgard has been protected by over 250,000 Vikings!” tweeted the game’s developer, Canadian studio Norsfell. “Thank you to our growing community for your continued support and for helping us achieve this amazing milestone.”

The team also reported that players have killed over 40,000 Jotnar (the game’s giant mobs) within the first few hours of the game’s launch and that they’ve partnered with One Tree Planted to plant the same number of trees. “Gearbox Publishing and Norsfell are teaming up with One Tree Planted to plant 40k glorious trees in your honor. You made Yggdrasil proud!”

“The Giants are coming! Form a tribe with up to 10 players to defend your village from the relentless onslaught of deadly spirits and gigantic brutes hel-bent on bringing on the end of the world in this game with a unique blend of action, survival, and roguelite elements.”

Tribes of Midgard is priced at $19.99 and is available on Steam, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Check out the official launch trailer below.
