Amazon Game Studios continues to tweak and adjust New World’s May update on the public test realm in preparation for its release later this month. The highlights of the latest PTR build include major changes to the 3v3 PvP Arena and War mechanics.

As of the latest PTR update, players will no longer be able to use non-arena consumables in PvP Arenas but will be given arena-exclusive ones to use upon entering the instance. These include health potions, regen potions, mana potions, and attribute foods. Arena consumables will automatically be removed upon leaving a match.

The XP reward placheholders have also been replaced with their final values which are: 400 XP for a win, 100 XP for every round won if you lose, and no XP rewards for a loss. PvP Track rewards for participating in the PvP Arena have also been adjusted. Participants will now gain a fixed 250 PvP XP reward when they lose a match in the arena.

As for Wars, Faction Control Point bonuses have been reworked as follows:

  • Brightwood: Camping no longer costs resources.
  • Cutlass Keys: Increases global gathering luck by 10%.
  • Ebonscale Reach: Decreases the cost of items in the faction store by 5%.
  • Everfall: Increases the amount of Azoth Salt gained by 10%.
  • First Light: Increases global refining yield by 10%.
  • Monarch Bluffs: Increases all experience gains by 5%.
  • Mourningdale: Increase the gearscore ceiling of crafting by 5. The maximum gearscore you can roll is still 600.
  • Reekwater: Increases the amount of PvP Experience gained by 5%.
  • Restless Shores: All fast travel is now free.
  • Weaver’s Fen: Decreases global tax values by 10%.
  • Windsward : Increases the chance that a consumable isn’t consumed on use by 10%.

Starmetal and Orichalcum spawn timers have also been decreased while Gold and Platinum spawn rates have been adjusted to match those of Silver Ore nodes. The level at which creatures drop specific-tiered hides have also been adjusted to alleviate bottlenecking at Tier 4 hides and make Tier 5 hides less abundant.
