New World Pushes Back Barnacles And Black Powder Expedition

Amazon Game Studios has announced a delay in the launch of New World’s new Barnacles and Black Powder Expedition due to last minute issues. The promised Expedition Group Finder had already been delayed as of last week, another key feature of today’s update, which means that the now-barebones update launched with just bug fixes and various gameplay changes.

“I am sorry to announce that additional testing has uncovered an issue with the Barnacles and Black Powder expedition,” Amazon wrote on the New World official forums. “The team is working hard to address the issue but this means we will be delayed in activating the feature. We apologise for this inconvenience, especially on the heels of delaying Group Finder, as we endeavor to release the highest quality of experience to you all.”

Additionally, the devs have also temporarily raised the maximum daily Expedition limit from 15 to 25 to account for a bug that caused 3v3 Arenas and other game modes to consume additional run counts. Note that the limit increase is just a workaround and will be brought back down to the original limit once a fix has been deployed.

Other fixes include one that prevents players from taking durability damage in Normal and Mutated versions of Tempest’s Heart and another that removes the ability to climb over war camp walls during Territory Wars.
