New World Dives Into Its New Leaderboards In The Latest Forged In Aeternum Video

Amazon Game Studios is currently working on introducing a leaderboard system in New World as soon as they get around to properly testing it of course. After over two years without leaderboards, the question on everybody’s mind is why now? A question that the team answers in the latest episode of their Forged in Aeternum video series.

In the new dev video, Social Features Lead Dan Henuber, Social Team Game Designer Rachel Barnum, and Social Team Lead Scott Geiser dive into the nature of the new leaderboards system, which, according to them, will serve as a framework that they can expand and build on for future content updates, such as the addition of ranked PvP.

The leaderboard will also tie in with existing content like Faction Wars and Mutations to give players an added sense of accomplishment. The team also offers insight into the design philosophy and the work that went into making the new feature, all of which are covered in the new video below.
