New World Will Be Merging ‘Legacy’ Servers This Week, Kicks Off Turkolon Thanksgiving Event
After adding a bunch of new fresh start servers for New World earlier this month, Amazon Game Studios is now planning to merge several “legacy” servers that were all but abandoned after the rush to join the new servers. The server merges will take place on November 18th at 8 a.m. PST and will include a total of 17 servers which will be merged down to 8.
“During the initial Fresh Start World rush, we prioritized player experience by creating additional worlds and mitigating extenuating queues,” Amazon explained. “To address population shifts, we will be merging legacy worlds within US-East, US-West, South America, Australia, and Central Europe to help support healthy world populations. As a reminder, we look into a combination of average concurrency, active characters, faction population, and more to determine which worlds should be merged.”
Here's the official list of servers to be merged:
Central Europe
- Thule will be merging into Caer Sidi.
- Ishtakar will be merging into Abaton.
- Albraca will be merging into Niflheim.
- Jotunheim will be merging into Tupia.
US East
- Barataria and Krocylea are merging into Heliopolis.
US West
- Camelot will be merging into Aukumea.
South America
- Lanka and Apsu will be merging into Atlantis.
Australia
- Agartha will be merging into Eridu.
“As always, our team is monitoring all existing worlds to ensure healthy world populations,” Amazon said. “Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
Meanwhile, the studio has kicked off Thanksgiving celebrations in Aeternum as the Turkolon event goes live. During the event, turkey world bosses that drop turkey legs will spawn in several spots all across the game world. Players can then use these legs to cook up a turkey dinner that grants a buff that increases Constitution and Luck for 40 minutes with each use.
The latest game update also comes with a handful of bug fixes, some tweaks to the Blunderbuss and Ice Gauntlet, and XP nerfs for the Rumble on the Docks, The Captain’s Arrival, and Sneed’s Revenge encounters.
