Amazon Game Studios has rolled out this week’s New World patch which comes with fixes for everything that went wrong in November’s Into the Void update. The massive update introduced new features and content to the game, including the new Void Gauntlet weapon, but also ended up inadvertently deleting gear, granting players huge piles of gold, and forced the team to disable the trading post for the third time due to another exploit.

Patch 1.1.1 replaces Gathering Armor that were accidentally deleted when Into the Void came out with equivalent or better gear. House item and furniture trading has also been re-enabled with the patch’s release. The patch also introduces various balance tweaks to the Void Gauntlet, fixes bugs in jewelcrafting, adjusts mote drop rate, adds elemental harvest drops.

The team also explained their reasons for decreasing the trade skill XP earned from crafting lower tier items and gear when a player reaches a new crafting tier. When a player unlocks Steel crafting recipes, for example, they’ll earn less XP when crafting Iron recipes.

“We did this to emphasize crafting higher tiered items as you progress through trade skills and to also improve the value of higher tiered materials. Our intention behind this change is to reward players for crafting higher tiered items as they progress through the ranks of each trade skill. Before this change, we found players were spending too much time crafting low tier items as opposed to pushing their crafting skill up crafting items that they may actually use at their current level.”

The patch also lays the groundwork for server merges and enhances performance during Wars. The full release notes can be found on the New World official site if you want to take a gander.
