New World Is Removing Several Fellowship & Fire Challenges To Tune Down Difficulty

New World’s first-ever seasonal pass has had a bit of a rough start, with Amazon Studios finding themselves dealing with a difficulty spike that’s stopping some players from completing the reward track. In an effort to alleviate the problem, Amazon is taking action by removing certain challenges that are proving too difficult.

The final two chapters are apparently almost impossible for solo players as they require a significant amount of time spent participating in endgame group activities. One Reddit user also noted that progression in the season pass seems to be heavily slanted towards max level players.

“There’s no way to progress in the season pass in any meaningful way unless you’re able to craft max tier items, and get to regions of the map meant for level 60 players, or play PvP,” wrote the user.

To tune down the overall difficulty of the season, Amazon will be removing some of the more difficult season challenges. The developers said that they’ll be disabling five season activities that are proving too challenging and costly to complete to make it easier for players to progress through the activity card.

While Amazon’s decision to remove the challenges may be seen as a step in the right direction, some players are concerned about the lack of content. The Fellowship and Fire season is expected to last for several months, and removing challenges may not be enough to keep players engaged. Whether the team plans to replace the removed challenges with alternative content remains to be seen.
