PlanetSide 2 Gets New Summer-Themed Weaponry And A Gifting Feature
It’s once again time for PlanetSide 2 players to bring out the big water guns as the MMO shooter’s Gifts of Summer event officially goes live.
As part of the event, players now have access to various water-fueled weapons, including Water Balloons grenades, the Soldier Soaker sidearm, and the Mega Soldier Soaker rifle. The sidearm is available by default while the summer-themed grenade and rifle can be unlocked for 1 and 1000 Certification Points, respectively.
The event also comes with three new Summer Directives which will be running separately for two weeks at a time. Weapon and cosmetic bundles from previous summer events will also be available in the depot which can now be sent as a gift to another player along with other weapons and bundles in the depot through the new gifting feature.
Aerial Anomalies will also be returning to the MMOFPS for a limited time. The event will spawn anomalies randomly across the map, removing the Nanite cost for aircraft. These anomalies will contain Tempests that players will have to quickly collect and deposit in their faction’s buoy. Bastion Fleet Carriers can also be used as alternate drop-off locations that can give a faction an advantage over others when used at the right time.
