Team Battle Arena Project Q Was One Of Ubisoft’s Recently Cancelled Games

The past year has been rough for Ubisoft with another delay for its long-awaited Skull and Bones pirate MMORPG, an impending worker strike brought about by the CEO Yves Guillemot blaming the workforce for the company’s poor performance, and multiple game cancellations.

Just last week, Ubisoft cancelled three more unannounced titles in addition to the four games that were cancelled last summer. One of those cancelled titles was a PvP team battle arena codenamed Project Q. The game was first announced back in April 2022 when a series of leaks forced Ubisoft to prematurely unveil it to the public.

“We can confirm we will no longer support the development of Project Q in order to focus on priority projects, to which our teams are being reallocated,” Ubisoft told VGC.

Project Q’s cancellation may have something to do with the publisher’s failed forays into live service games following the flop of its Ghost Recon and Hyper Scape battle royale titles. On the bright side, Ubisoft doesn’t have to worry about the possibility of Project Q flopping anymore.
