RuneScape Celebrates 300 Million Accounts With A Big Party And Double XP
It’s been more than 20 years since RuneScape first launched on PC, yet players are still creating new accounts to play the long-running fantasy MMORPG. According to Jagex, over 300 million accounts have been made to date and the studio is celebrating the milestone by throwing a party at the Grand Exchange.
From now until September 4th, you’ll be able to claim the free 300M Keepsake Glasses from Party Pete at the Grand Exchange. You’ll also be granted Balloon Fragments by simply playing the game and earning XP and by using Treasure Hunter Keys. Collect 200 fragments and return them to Party Pete to receive a special balloon filled with various rewards, such as exclusive event cosmetics and gold pieces (GP).
The balloon’s color indicates the rarity of the rewards inside, starting with White Balloons, Blue, Purple, and finally Gold Balloons. Gold Balloons can contain a whopping 300 million GP or a guaranteed token to claim either the Pernix, Torva, or Virtus Cosmetic Armour set.
You’ll also be able to enjoy double XP starting on August 12th until August 22nd.

That’s pretty darn awesome and we’ll never forget it.”
