Sentou Gakuen Is Making A Comeback As Sentou Gakuen Revival

It would be understandable if you had never heard of the 2012 MMORPG Sentou Gakuen. Developed by a small team at the Indonesian company PST Studios, it was the first of its kind in that it combined MMORPG and visual novel gameplay to create a unique experience. Gameplay revolved around increasing stats through school lessons, earning money at part-time jobs, and joining clubs, inevitably taking part in club activities. It provided something a bit different in that it looked to actually model the school life you see in anime and visual novels.

Now, it's getting a reboot. Entitled Sentou Gakuen: Revival, the game's newest edition, complete with a full graphical revamp, hit Greenlight earlier today. As they put it on the Greenlight page, "you are the protagonist of your own story." They give you a world and you can do whatever you want with it. Through the "durian" scripting language, you can even create your own "normal visual novel" within the game! You can even use your own resources and share the story with the community.

But that's not the focus. As with the first edition of the game, the focus is on living your school life, co-operating and competing with others as you see fit. Or you can be the "lone wolf that belong in Go-Home-Club." There are also two factions, the Yami and Hikari, that players can join and fight to the death in. Or they can stand by and watch. Their choice!

The official website will be here in the near future but it seems to be down currently. According to the Greenlight page, this revival is scheduled for later this year. However, you can get started in the 2012 version now, if you are so inclined!
