Single-Player Roguelike Darkest Dungeon Adds A PvP Mode With The Butcher’s Circus DLC

darkest dungeon butchers circus keyart bannerMost of our readers probably haven’t heard of Red Hook Studios’ roguelike turn-based RPG, Darkest Dungeon. We haven’t covered it in the past because, up until The Butcher’s Circus DLC’s release, the game was solely a single-player RPG. The free DLC was released just yesterday and features a new PvP Arena mode that now technically makes it an online multiplayer game.

In the new PvP mode, two teams of four heroes fight it out for pride, glory, and honor. It’s also just for fun and bragging rights since the PvP matches won’t have any real bearing on the single player campaign. Still, it’s a great way to take a break from butchering mindless mobs in the campaign.

The Butcher’s Circus is available for free to all players who own the base game. The base game itself is also free on Steam for the duration of the weekend. The free trial also includes access to the DLC so if you want to check it out, now’s the perfect time.

P.S. Avid readers will probably call me out for featuring Final Fantasy 7 Remake in a few articles, but I’ve always had a soft spot for Final Fantasy games, so sue me. ^_^
