After being delayed for a year, monster taming MMO Temtem is finally moving just a little bit closer to launching on the Nintendo Switch. Developer Crema Games reveals that the Switch version is now going through Nintendo’s certification process but have yet to announce a release date on the portable platform.

“This is just a first step in the process of getting the game set for the platform, and we’ll have to undergo further certification in the future, when the game is closer to launching,” said Crema.

In the meantime, the team says that they’re still working on the massive Content Update 1 which will come with a boatload of new content, including mounts, an auction system, guild wars, territorial PvP, and more. The game will also be coming out on Xbox Series X|S sometime in the future.

Temtem launched into Steam Early Access back in January 2020 and has had a very bumpy journey since then. This was largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic which derailed their development plans for the next two years. Crema was able to get the game out into Early Access on PlayStation 5 but had to delay the Switch launch and the game’s full release indefinitely. As of fall 2021, the team says that they’re now on track for official launch this year.
