Vendetta Online Will Be Free-To-Play Until June, Implements New Measures Against Toxicity
Here’s another MMO for you to try while you’re locked up at home. Vendetta Online developer, Guild Software, has just announced that the game will be free-to-play for the next couple of months. And by free, we mean the highest paid subscription available in the game. This means that all of the game’s content will be available to anyone who wants to take the game for a spin. That includes new players, veterans, and returning players alike.
“[. . .] All accounts will be able to play across all platforms without level caps, construct Capital Ships, create new Guilds, and other Premium-specific activities.
This has no impact on underlying billing, or account status. When the Free period ends, the account reverts to the underlying state and limitations (Lite, Trial, Freemium, etc).”
According to Guild Software, giving away free subscriptions is their way of offering a virtual sanctuary to players who want to take a break from all the chaos of the current COVID-19 pandemic. Of course, it’s also a way to encourage more players to at least try the game and potentially get more subscribers.
In preparation for the arrival of new players, the developers have introduced more stringent measures to control abusive and toxic chat behavior such as trolling, personal attacks, and political arguments among others. The developers have also improved NPC behavior and decreased sector loading times.
