Warhammer: Chaosbane Developer Diary Reveals Endgame Mechanics And Post-Launch Plans

warhammer chaosbane fireballWith Warhammer: Chaosbane just a few days from launch, BigBen and EKO Software are eager to let fans in on what to expect from the upcoming action RPG once they’ve completed the main quest line. A new developer video reveals a few details about the endgame content and the studios’ post-launch plans.

“Once the main quest is finished, the player will be able to restart with a new character while keeping everything they’ve previously unlocked: crafting, fragments, money, etc.

Additionally, finishing the game will unlock different endgame modes:

  • Expedition mode: the best way to start a fast game, alone or with friends, in randomly-generated levels.
  • Relic hunt: the player may purchase a map from the Collector’s Guild in order to get access to a dungeon which offers several difficulty levels and lets players collect heroic gear.
  • Boss Rush: lets you confront the campaign bosses as quickly as possible in order to test builds and gear.”

Once the game is released, the devs promise regular updates to the game with a number of changes and additions already queued for release sometime in the near future. These include a new difficulty level, new gear, a permanent death mode, new Heroic sets for every hero, and a level-cap increase.

The devs also have a number of paid DLCs planned for release down the road which will include new emotes, a new passive skill, companions, and, a new Act which will feature a new storyline that will take place in “never-before-seen environments”, where the players will face off against an army of evil undead creatures.

Warhammer: Chaosbane will officially launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on June 4th. Magnus Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition owners, however, will get to jump into the game ahead of the pack beginning May 31st. Check out the developer video right after the jump.
