World Of Warcraft Players Report Buggy New UI And Other Dragonflight Pre-Patch Issues

The next saga in the World of Warcraft narrative got off to a rocky start the other night after roughly 12 hours of maintenance downtime. Nearly half a day of rolling out the Dragonflight pre-patch and months of testing, however, apparently weren’t enough to ensure that all of the new features would work on launch day.

Players report a game riddled with bugs and unpolished features, with most complaints aimed at the newly revamped UI. The complaints particularly come from long-time players who’ve gotten used to their action bars and other HUD layouts arranged in a certain way and found that they’ve now been shuffled around thanks to the UI update. Disabling HUD addons seems to fix the problems for some players but there’s still a flood of requests for an option to revert back to the classic UI.

Blizzard has also posted a list of know issues which include empty action bars, faulty hotbars, and the new hold-to-cast feature not functioning as it should.

The long list of problems with the Dragonflight pre-patch hasn’t stopped players from swarming the servers to prepare for the expansion’s launch next month and check out the recent changes. These include eight new race/class combos, free use of the barbershop, shorter resurrection sickness effects, the solo Arena shuffle, and the reworked Uldaman raid.

Phase 2 of the Dragonflight pre-patch is expected to drop on November 15th while the expansion itself will officially be launching on November 28th.
